Are you noticing the moments of praise?
We give consequences when a child comes home beyond the cut off time…at the same time are we noticing and praising when he comes on time as well, be it once in four times?
While consequence could work to kick start a behavior, it loses its appeal in the long run. Praise is what keeps the behavior reinforced associating a positivity around it.
